One year ago today... Feature Requests

Some pretty good stories have appeared throughout K5's history, and K5 is in the unique position of having good content, and old content, and good old content. It probably wouldn't be difficult to set up a "one year ago today" box that duplicates the front page from some time ago.

The K5 front page 'scrolls' slowly enough that the "older news" box is useless to me. I'd love to clutter up my screen with the infinitely more entertaining "what happened a year ago". Just think- it's like getting content for free. This idea is somewhat related to the "Golden Stories" idea floated around on K5 a few months ago.

What I've been wanting (none / 0) (#1)
by fluffy grue on Thu May 16, 2002 at 01:17:45 PM PST

I'd been wanting a way of specifying a date for rewinding the Everything page (similar to what Slash has for its "older stories" box, or at least had last time I read /. with any sort of interest), and then have a person occasionally post an article summarizing the most interesting articles with plenty of links. Simply duplicating the frontpage would only make the frontpage twice as boring as it already is. :D
