Has anybody implemented photograph module? I want to be able to submit photograph with the stories. Perhaps even more than one.

I am interested in this as well (none / 0) (#1)

I have been reading around the admin and programing guide and fiddleing with scoop. I hope to integrate or write somthing like IDS into scoop.

If anyone is working or has a project like this I would be willing to contribute. If not and you are interested maybe I will move the project to a front burner type of thing. right now im trying to wrap my brain around scoop.

Cory King did some excellant work adding photo upload capabilities to the photographica.org website a while back, but I havn't heard of any plans to add the code to the main codebase.

Why stop at pictures? (none / 0) (#7)

The best way would be to code a file module to allow upload of any type of files. I'm in process of doing that now. I have upload working (thanks to code from Utility.pm) and am working on the interface. Unlike some, I will release the code once I finish the basic interface.

Just for clarification (none / 0) (#9)

I will release the code to my modifications. They do mess with a lot of stuff for example it requires a new table in the database for username->keyword->image lookups. I'm going to discuss this with the dev team RSN.

The thing about it is, most of what I've done is take the existing codebase and tweak it in a very specific manner. I plan to add a lot more site specific mods (like storing camera information & perhaps even location information). None of these would make it into mainstream scoop.

Where is the code on this? (none / 0) (#16)
by inspire22 on Wed Aug 28, 2002 at 09:19:18 AM PST

Hi All, I've been checking back on this thread from time to time, and am wondering where on earth the code for images, etc is available? I'm looking into making some modifications of my own, and am also wondering how to handle changing of stock code so that my distro will remain compatible with future scoop (not all of my mods will be non site specific)... Is just overloading functions in my own modules a good idea? Obviously, it seems wrong to just hack away at the raw code...
