Desktop blog software for Scoop? Feature Requests

Is there a standalone piece of desktop software that can be used to post stories on Scoop sites?

Back when I used Moveable Type I used Zempt.  Lots of people like Ecto.

Is there anything that works with Scoop?

I don't believe so (none / 0) (#1)

The thought has crossed my mind to write one, especially as most seasoned posters to the big scoop sites tend to write up their missives in a real editor, then cut'n'paste them into their browser; however, my hands are a little too full at the moment.

Maybe if we ever get that XML/SOAP interface... ;-)

XML-RPC interface with Java client (none / 0) (#2)
by hillct on Fri Nov 05, 2004 at 05:31:55 PM PST

At one point a java client was written by someone who's name escapes me, based on an experimental XML-RPC interface I wrote a couple years back. I never completed or checked in the intercace and I have no idea what became of the client. When I reimplement this solution, it may include a SOAP interface and if I'm really feeling adventurous, I may try for a Mozilla gecko based client. This is one of those things that has remained on the back burner for a LONG time...

There is not (none / 0) (#4)

... due to Scoop's lack of support for any of the standard blog APIs. This is one of the points I wish the Scoop devs would really push on. An XML-RPC API for Scoop would open up a lot of possibilities.
