A user over on ShouldExist made an astute suggestion: Make the moderation queue available via an RSS feed. Sounds like a great idea to me. Would make it easier to keep in touch with the site, and hopefully encourage participation in the moderation process.

That seems like a great way... (none / 0) (#1)

...to get more people involved with the moderation process, especially on low volume sites.

The best ideas are often the simple ones. This would greatly encourage user participation, I think. I like the idea a lot.

you could do this in a box (none / 0) (#3)

Check out the function cron_rdf in lib/Scoop/Cron.pm to see how the rdf file is created.

You would want to use getstories() as the cron_rdf function says it should in its comments (see the Scoop Admin Guide for a description of the getstories function) and tell it to get story summaries with a displaystatus (-dispstatus) of -2.

You can then create a new cron item that runs this box as often as you want it to run. Don't forget to change the filename it tries to write to, or it'll overwrite your regular story RDF file.
